One of my favorite aspects of being a wedding photographer is witnessing how people across the world celebrate important events. Puja and Rajpaul's Indian engagement ceremony in Chapel Hill was a lively at-home celebration, and I enjoyed every minute of it!
Traditionally, the engagement ceremony is one of the first ceremonies that takes place between the two families of the bride and groom. Unlike my own engagement celebration- which consisted solely of changing my Facebook status and counting the "likes"- Puja and Rajpaul's event included a limo, delicious food, and the exchanging of gifts and sweets in a forty-five minute ceremony and was followed by dinner. Puja's family beautifully decorated her family's home with colorful scarves and flowers which made for a great portrait backdrop!
Puja and Rajpual, thank you so much for inviting me to photograph your engagement ceremony. I really appreciated the warmth and humor of your family members, and tell your grandfather that I want to see his abundant iPad photos of the day! :)
